What is actually known, and who established it.

There is a great deal of writing about AI in legal practice and remarkably little evidence in it. The Library is the Institute's attempt to separate the two: every entry here is a real, verifiable work, classified by the area of practice it bears on, summarised in the Institute's own words, and set against the others — because the authorities disagree, sometimes sharply, and a shelf that hid that would be less useful than one that shows it. Several entries are published by organisations with a commercial interest in the answer. Where that is so, the entry says so, which is more helpful than leaving such work out.
